Important Battery Information

Vape battery range

At Vampire Vape, we stock a selection of vape batteries, designed to power advanced mods and kits. The external vape batteries offered here, are suitable for all the vaping devices on our site, enabling you to purchase everything you need to complete your vape kit. Our rechargeable battery collection features batteries from well-known brands, including Nightcore, EXOCELL and Efest, reputable providers of powerful e-cigarette batteries. Vape batteries are designed to be installed and removed easily, making it a stress-free experience, and easier to clean and maintain the device. Such batteries need to be charged externally, even if a device states you can charge via a USB port, we always recommend using a compatible charging station or external charger.

Types of battery

Vape kits have two types of battery, they either have an internal fixed or a removable external battery. Modern devices use a Lithium-Ion battery which is easily recharged allowing you to use them many times over. Internal built-in batteries are proprietary, designed for the device and will vary in output. External rechargeable batteries are available in two common sizes, the 18650 battery and the 21700 battery. The smaller of the two removable batteries, the 18650 is a 3.6v - 3.7v 3500mAh battery with a 10A max continuous power output and is the most commonly used. The larger 21700 is a 3.6v - 3.7v 4000mAh battery with a 10A max continuous power output and will generally last longer. Many vape mods and devices will accommodate both sizes, with a sleeve used for the 18650. The Samsung 25r is the most common and widely used of the 18650s.

Looking after your vape batteries

Batteries are an essential item, and continually replacing them can be expensive. However, rechargeable ones can save you a small fortune. They are a cost-effective option that ensures your device is ready for vaping, provided you have charged the batteries!

Batteries with such power must be cared for as misused batteries pose a risk. Here are a few safety tips to note if you use a device that requires external batteries.

  • Always keep batteries in a case and not loose in your bag or pocket.
  • Do not over-discharge your battery (keep an eye on how much battery you have left)
  • Always use a charger that is compatible with the batteries.
  • You should never leave batteries charging overnight or unattended.
  • If the PVC wrap is broken, do not use them.
  • Do not expose to extreme heat.

Battery Disposal

Proper disposal of lithium batteries is crucial to protect the environment and prevent safety hazards. In the UK, there are clear guidelines to ensure these batteries are disposed of responsibly.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Environmental Impact: Lithium batteries contain hazardous materials that can harm soil and water if not disposed of correctly.
  • Safety Risks: Improper disposal, such as throwing batteries in general waste, can lead to fires or explosions.
  • Recycling Benefits: Recycling lithium batteries allows valuable materials like cobalt and lithium to be reused, reducing the need for new resource extraction.
  • Legal Compliance: UK regulations prohibit disposing of batteries with household waste. They must be recycled at approved facilities or collection points.

Follow these steps to dispose of lithium batteries responsibly and contribute to a safer, greener environment.

In the UK, there are several options for disposing of batteries responsibly, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations:

Where to Dispose of Batteries

Local Recycling Centres:

  • Most local council-run recycling centres accept batteries for safe disposal.
  • Check your council's website to find the nearest centre.

Retailer Collection Points:

  • Many vape stores, supermarkets, hardware stores, and electronics shops have battery recycling bins.
  • Look for collection points at major retailers like Tesco, Sainsbury's, or Currys.

Specialist Recycling Services:

  • For large quantities and industrial batteries, contact licensed waste disposal companies.

Kerbside Collection (if available):

  • Some councils offer kerbside collection for small batteries. Check local recycling guidelines.

Make sure to store batteries safely before disposal to avoid leaks or short circuits. For lithium batteries, tape the terminals to prevent accidental sparks.
